Job Description

Coin Metrics is recruiting a Data Quality and Operations Lead to support its data engineering and data sciences functions. Join a fast-paced startup pioneering novel metrics, data products, and insights surrounding the economics, markets, usage, health, and other aspects of public cryptocurrency blockchains like Bitcoin and Ethereum and other crypto networks. Location: Boston, MA (preferred), remote considered (greater Boston or New York City area preferred)

Responsibilities

In this role, you will have responsibility to

  • Architect a data quality and assurance strategy unifying existing processes to ensure seamless problem detection, testing and fix
  • Develop and implement operational models to fix problems at the source and ensure continuous quality improvement
  • Develop visual dashboards and other techniques to develop and measure quality KPIs using common metrics such as validity, integrity and completeness
  • Respond to queries from customers and maintain good working relationships to enhance customer satisfaction
  • Work collaboratively across all teams and all levels to educate on data quality while taking ownership of the overall process
  • Monitor the receipt of network and market data feeds from blockchains and third-party vendors, respectively
  • Ensure that internal data transformations, computations and delivery to clients meet quality standards
  • Create automated data anomaly detection algorithms and implement manual checks and processes where appropriate
  • Grow the data quality team/function over time (hiring, training, mentoring, managing, etc.)

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in information technology or data discipline (Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge and working experience in data engineering and management pipeline: data governance; data organization and cleansing; extract, transform, and load (ETL); report or dashboard building; automation; anomaly detection, etc.
  • Experience with relational databases (preferably PostgreSQL)
  • 3+ years experience writing code in languages such as SQL (e.g., writing complex queries, creating multi-table joins, using analytical functions), Python 3, or R
  • 3+ years experience in Data Quality roles, with demonstration of expanding responsibilities
  • 2+ years experience managing teams, mentoring individuals, and developing overall team aptitudes
  • 1 year experience with Master Data Management or Data Quality tools, including Informatica, Talend, Alteryx, Apache Atlas, Collibra, or others
  • Strong curiosity and passion for decentralized economies/open finance
  • Strong sense of ownership, entrepreneurial spirit, and/or startup-like experience, capable of driving towards solutions independently while seeking feedback when appropriate

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with ticket-based systems such as JIRA
  • Experience working with BI Tools such as Tableau, Sisense, PowerBI or others
  • Experience working with Java or Kotlin
  • Bonus: knowledge of blockchain and related networks and their data structures
  • Bonus: experience in applying machine learning to solving data quality problems

Coin Metrics is recruiting a Digital Marketing Manager to architect and execute an integrated marketing strategy. The strategy will include website, social media, digital newsletter, research publications, and conference or other physical engagements to increase brand awareness. Join a fast-paced startup pioneering novel metrics, data products, and insights surrounding the economics, markets, usage, and health of public cryptocurrency blockchains like Bitcoin and Ethereum and other crypto networks. You will be surrounded by talented people passionate about decentralized economies and the data behind them. Break new ground, create exciting new data-driven research and products, and help shape future economies.

Location: Boston, MA

Responsibilities

Title and responsibilities will be commensurate with experience but will include the following:

  • Develop and maintain good relationships with the Coin Metrics community and key community members
  • Identify and organize events like Meetups, hackathons, or webinars, to educate the community on how Coin Metrics data can be used
  • Manage all Coin Metrics social channels, including but not limited to Twitter, LinkedIn, and other forums
  • Be responsible for the publication of a weekly newsletter and deeper research efforts and publications
  • Build and execute content marketing campaigns
  • Oversee the website in relation to marketing efforts to ensure optimization for customer conversion
  • Coordinate with sales to ensure marketing channels funnel into appropriate sales channels
  • Work with the executive team to make sure the website is optimized for customer conversions
  • Create a set of KPIs to track digital marketing performance
  • Engage with press inquiries
  • Stay up to date with crypto industry trends
  • Build and grow the marketing function and team over time

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in digital marketing, community management, or related
  • CRM management experience (Hubspot preferred)
  • Experience with SEO research and optimization
  • Experience with marketing automation or email marketing platforms
  • Excellent listening, verbal, and written skills and be able to communicate effectively to a diverse audience with different levels of understanding around fintech, market data, and cryptocurrency
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work across teams to make things happen
  • Confident working in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Happy rolling up their sleeves and getting their hands dirty as well as taking a step back and thinking strategically
  • Bonus: experience or interest in crypto markets
